About the Project
Expressions of Addiction is an exhibit of original photographic portraits that depict people during various stages and expressions of addiction. Each portrait includes biographical information about each subject derived from in-person interviews. These photographs are part of an exhibition that spreads awareness about addiction by reaching thousands through gallery exhibitions, television programming, and online outlets. The Expressions of Addiction photography print exhibit was a successful endeavour. The Expressions of Addiction print exhibit has been shown at the Radisson Hotel Boston, the Rio Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, the Massachusetts State House, Boston’s Museum of Science, St. Francis House, Roxbury Community College Performing Arts Festival, and UMass Boston. In addition, Jeanne Blake’s About Health television program aired an episode featuring Dr. Shaffer and images from Expressions of Addiction. Click here for a paywalled version of the episode.
