During 2025, the Division on Addiction will engage in a variety of independent education, outreach, and research activities related to responsible and problem gambling. The scope of work will include developing an on-demand continuing education course for allied health professionals to learn about gambling harm from perspectives of a former gambler, an active gambler, and academic researchers; distributing translated Gambling Disorder screening materials to community-based organizations for Gambling Disorder Screening Day (GDSD); preparing and delivering GDSD materials to U.S. gambling councils; hosting a GDSD event at a major professional sporting event; producing the Division’s Brief Addiction Science Information Source (BASIS) research blog, including a Special Series focused on technology and addiction; and engaging in quarterly data science seminars for DraftKings employees.

The Division and DraftKings have collaborated since 2016 on a variety of basic and applied research, as well as Responsible Gaming consultation, education, and training.
