During 2026, the Division on Addiction will engage in a variety of independent education, outreach, and research activities related to responsible and problem gambling. The scope of work will include developing and distributing materials about gambling among emerging adults to healthcare providers and community-based organizations for Gambling Disorder Screening Day (GDSD); hosting GDSD events two a major professional sporting events; producing the Division’s Brief Addiction Science Information Source (BASIS) research blog, including a Special Series focused on emerging adults; and validating the Brief Biosocial Gambling Screen among emerging adults; and data science/responsible gambling consultation.
The Division and DraftKings have collaborated since 2016 on a variety of basic and applied research, as well as Responsible Gaming consultation, education, and training.
