The Computerized Assessment & Referral System (CARS) is a screening tool tailored for impaired driving settings (e.g., DUI courts, DUI offender aftercare, probation) to screen for substance use and mental health conditions. While we have seen great utility with this tool, its accessibility will be improved by adapting it to run in the cloud. More specifically, cloud access could improve CARS by: (1) making it more easily accessible to users, (2) easing the registration process for users, (3) increasing user engagement, and (4) increasing security and safety of user information. Spinutech, a Responsibility.org -chosen vendor, will adapt CARS for the cloud and will work with the Division to ensure that CARS in the Cloud accurately reflects the content, features, algorithms, and flow of CARS.
