On June 28, 2018, the Division on Addiction hosted a webinar on addiction and gambling-related problems. The webinar—Understanding the Many Faces of Gambling-related Problems: Origins, Identification, & Treatment: A Webinar for Health Providers—was FREE OF CHARGE to participants. Continuing education credit agencies included the American Psychological Association, American Academy of Health Care Providers in the Addiction Disorders, National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, National Board for Certified Counselors and the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
This activity was designed to prepare mental health and substance use treatment providers to recognize and manage gambling-related problems in their clients, and included a discussion of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Practice Guidelines for Treating Gambling-Related Problems: An Evidence-Based Treatment Guide for Clinicians. This important event was funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services.
