Research under CHARGE includes two major, multi-year studies currently underway:

Assessing Responsible Gambling in Massachusetts

The Division partnered with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) to conduct a multi-year evaluation of three responsible gambling tools designed to minimize potential harms associated with gambling opportunities. These tools are the PlayMyWay voluntary budgeting tool, the GameSense program, and Voluntary Self-Exclusion. Read more here.

Updating and Refining Problem Gambling Treatment Guidelines for Research & Practice

Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, this project will include developing gambling-related training, assessment, and clinical resources for the the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Department of Public Health.  Read more here.
